Abstract:

3D printing in color is increasingly becoming popular due to its ability to produce realistic and vibrant appearances. With the need for additional post-processing due to surface finish and roughness of the 3D printed models, the widespread adoption of this technology is limited. Moreover, it is challenging to achieve accurate color reproduction due to the complex interaction of light with the surface, particularly with the 3D-printed polymers. In this talk, we present results of an investigation about colour variation due to different PolyJet control parameters, and reflectance properties of 3D printed parts using BRDF measurements.
